I have known for a long time that I and my family needed to eat more healthy. But I didn't want to. I like sugar, junk food, and the convenience of picking up a pizza for dinner once in a while. It seemed like so much work to figure out what we could and could not eat. And I was not looking forward to the remarks from children who were not interested in a healthier lifestyle. With all the other stresses of life, it just seemed like one more thing I just didn't want to tackle. And so I didn't.
A few months ago I went to a free class by Green Smoothie Girl, Robyn Openshaw. I went because I was a little bit curious, but mostly I went because the organizer of the event was a friend of mine. I went to support her.
Robyn's story and her enthusiasm for raw fruits and vegetables changed my outlook. I bought a huge bag of spinach at Costco along with some frozen fruit. And the rest is history. I love drinking my fresh raw green smoothie everyday as does my husband, who is not a very big vegetable fan. Our kids drink them as often as I can get them to. It was this one, seemingly small, thing that I was doing for myself and my family that was directing us towards a healthier lifestyle. And it felt good. Actually it felt great.
And I wanted to do more.
Now, anytime I hear someone mention a natural remedy or a healthier way to eat, my ears perk up. There is so much that I want to know and learn. Please join me and my family on this journey to a healthier, more natural life.
